Annex Business Media is Canada’s largest B2B media company. We believe that our values and unique culture are cornerstones to our success and why we consistently outperform the industry. We are currently looking for a professional editor to join our editorial team.

Specifically, you will be working on Blue Line, Canada’s #1 national law enforcement magazine, as part of a fast-paced team that embraces change, new projects and opportunities to continuously learn and grow.

What you will do:

•Manage the magazine from beginning to end; from concept and story pitching to feature writing and production.
•Partner and build relationships with freelance writers and contributors, edit copy written by industry experts, and ensure the quality and timeliness of online content.
•Work with our various digital products, including websites, e-news, e-books, social media, video, webinars and more in our quest to reach our readers wherever they are.
•Attend company and industry events to better connect with our market and readers.
•Build and foster partnerships with industry associations, law enforcement agencies and police services across the country
•Assist in the organization, planning and execution of Blue Line Expo & Conference, as well as Blue Line’s annual Police Leadership Award
•Innovate and act on emerging trends and needs within the media world and our industry.

What the ideal Annex candidate looks like:

•In addition to a degree/diploma in journalism or related field, you have a minimum of three years experience in editing, writing or journalism.
•Comfort and/or experience with all forms of media communication, including but not limited to print, websites, video and social media.
•Ability to work together to achieve the best results and proven can do/will do attitude. You take ownership over all you do.
•Great organizational abilities, as well as excellent computer skills.
•Outgoing personality and comfort in social settings.
•Track record of going above and beyond to deliver the unexpected.
•Strong work ethic and willingness to adapt in a constantly evolving media business.
•Knowledge or an interest in farming is an asset but not required.
