Food in Canada is celebrating its 80th year publishing in 2018. It is the only national food and beverage processing magazine in Canada and continues to grow!

We are looking for a sales-driven, customer-focused advertising sales account manager.

This new sales role will require an energetic person who is driven by the sales process – from searching for and uncovering prospective new advertisers, cold-calling, telephone sales as well as face-to-face meetings, and building a sales territory. This role can either be employee based or contract based – whatever fits with the right candidate’s priorities and goals.

We are offering a generous base salary with an equally generous commission and bonus structure, or equivalent compensation as a contractor that rewards for new business generation.

We are looking for experience selling print and digital advertising along with sponsorship sales, roundtable and/or webinar sales and possess the ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to develop and deliver effective advertising solutions is essential.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• New-business development is the key responsibility of this position. You will grow your territory through prospecting, cold-calling, meetings and presentations

• Provide superior customer service

• Assume responsibility for achieving and exceeding sales targets

• Develop new advertising opportunities to maintain and grow revenue

Qualifications and Skills:

• University or College program in a related field such as business, marketing, and/or communications.

• 3 - 5 years of sales or equivalent experience considered an asset

• Self-starter, driven to succeed

• Ability to develop and maintain positive client relationships

• Strength in working independently

• Outstanding business communication (oral and written skills)

• Willingness to travel to meet with prospects/clients, attend industry events/conferences; must possess valid passport, driver’s license, and vehicle

• Knowledge of the food processing industry would be an asset.
