Magazines Canada launches redesigned website
Industry association Magazines Canada has launched a redesigned website, Magazinescanada.ca. The site, says director of communications Laurie Alpern was refreshed in order to bring better organization and added features to users since the last time it was done in 2005.

The redesign was done with Toronto-based c-Seven Media and adds greater interactivity with members, consumers and visitors to the Magazines Canada Digital Newsstand. “One of the first things you notice coming to the site is a new flash page which tells users where to go,” says Alpern. “Before it was quite confusing. We have also brought in a digital component to the digital newsstand so users can preview the issue, see digital pricing and subscribe to the digital version without leaving the page.”

Other new additions to the site include videos, podcasts, the ability to purchase membership online, Magazine Canada news and the ability to add events.

Magazines Canada is the national trade association representing the leading Canadian-owned, Canadian content consumer, cultural, specialty, professional and business media magazines in the country. The association concentrates on government affairs, services to the advertising trade, circulation marketing and professional development.
