Photo gallery: This Mag redesign launch
A lively crowd of writers, editors, board members, friends and readers packed the back room at the Supermarket club in Toronto’s Kensington Market last night to celebrate the redesign of left-leaning political and culture title This Magazine. The new look, by art director David Donald, features full-colour throughout the book, a first for the magazine. Publisher Lisa Whittington-Hill said she was still getting used to the absence of black-and-white pages.

A folding commuter bicycle was raffled off, among other prizes, and the event also featured the “This Mag Cupcake Smack-down,” a cake-decorating contest judged by writer and magazine prof David Hayes.

This Mag art director David Donald, publisher Lisa Whittington-Hill and editor Graham Scott give the new design the thumbs-up.
