Ceri Marsh takes a mat leave
Ceri Marsh
Ceri Marsh
, editor of St. Joseph Media’s Fashion Magazine since November 2003, is taking a one-year maternity leave beginning in September. Bernadette Morra, longtime fashion editor and columnist for the Toronto Star, will fill in as temporary editor-in-chief while Marsh is away.

Marsh and Morra’s schedules will overlap for the last week of August, before Marsh, 41, departs to deliver her second child, a boy.

Marsh, who didn’t take a leave after giving birth to her daughter two and a half years ago, expects being away from the office for so long will be “bizarre,” but says she has full confidence in Morra’s ability to handle the responsibilities that come with being the editor of one of Canada’s largest fashion mags. “She’s a great person and I know she’ll be good to my team, which is one of the major considerations when you're hiring,” Marsh says.

Morra spent 23 years with the Star and has been a contributor to Fashion, as well as the late FQ, over the years. Last year, she launched Firstwaternews.com, an online magazine dedicated to fine jewelry and watches.
