City Style and Living Magazine takes two Caribbean Tourism awards
City Style and Living has earned two national media awards from a tourism association.

The quarterly magazine, published by K&S Media, calls itself Western Canada's first digital and print magazine. It won best of show and best article in a consumer magazine from the annual Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) held recently in Toronto. "This event serves to recognize Canadian-based media that have captured the essence of the Caribbean in their story telling," says a release.

The honours were awarded to editor-in-chief Kailash Maharaj and a team from City Style and Living magazine for their article Paradise Found, which ran in the Fall 2010 issue. Inspiration for the article on Grenada came from a 2010 trip to the Island.

Meanwhile, City Style is shopping itself to the television networks, noting it has "exciting and innovative ideas which our team would like to share with CBC viewers via on-air segments." Maharaj said its "lifestyle experts" are eager to appear on other national networks other than CBC.
