The Jul/Aug 2017 issue of Horse Canada, scheduled to hit newsstands on June 26th, will feature a very dark horse, also known as “Canada’s Horse”, or the “Little Iron Horse”.  The issue includes a free Iron Horse Poster inside.

Art Director Sieu Truong has brought that same “poster-like” quality to the construction of the cover.

• Main sell line in best position, up high and left
• Good use of alternating yellow and white to draw the eye down the page.
• Good use of e=left hand real estate for supporting sell-lines.

Here’s what the Art Director had to say about the cover:

We decided to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with our own “Canadian Horse” cover. This close up portrait of the handsome gelding was selected with the help of our Facebook fans. It has contrasting background colours and a simple bullet treatment. This really gives the reader an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of our Little Iron Horse.
